Plasma TV A Big Screen For a Little Room

One of the biggest drawbacks of the big screen television is the space needed for the television set itself. The plasma TV technology has made it possible to incorporate a big screen television into a small room. To understand how this change came about, briefly consider the difference in technology between a traditional television set and a plasma TV.

For the majority of time that television sets have been used as part of the home entertainment system, the television picked up a analog signal sent out by a broadcaster. That signal was analyzed by the television set and cathode ray tubes lit up the screen of the television. Thousands of tiny pixels make up the screen of the TV set in three colors - red, blue and green. Combinations of colors gave different hues as seen in real life and the result was a movie that (as nearly as possible) duplicated what we see in the real world. Digital television systems have increased the quality of the picture though many signals are still in analog form.

The plasma TV uses a different kind of technology for producing the picture though the reception is the same. In the case of the plasma TV, the pixels are lit up using something very similar to a fluorescent light. One of the biggest advantages is that the plasma TV technology uses much less space than the cathode ray tubes. This means that the plasma TV is only a few inches thick as opposed to the tube televisions that were large, bulky pieces of furniture.

This means that a smaller room that might not have been suitable for a big screen television set before could now have sufficient room. Because the screens are flat, you are also not dealing with the distortion at the edges of the screen and don’t really have to be directly in front of the plasma TV to get a good view.

Plasma TV The Price Goes Down

Plasma TV has become an important part of television technology. Over the past few years, there have been several major advances in the industry, including the plasma TV. As with any major technology advances, the plasma TV is quickly becoming more affordable - good news for the consumer.

There are several reasons the price of the plasma TV is becoming more affordable. The first is the same reason that most technologies come down in price - the fact that the technology becomes more widely understood and available. As more manufacturers go into business to make the product, the competition naturally gets more intense and prices go down.

Remember that the manufacturers of those first units are trying to recoup the cost of research and development. That makes the product - in this case the plasma TV - more expensive for the consumer. After the technology is slightly older, the companies who manufacture are no longer trying to recover those costs so they can sell the products cheaper. As long as a person holds a patent and other companies are not able to reproduce the technology, the price is more likely to remain high.

Another point that affects the cost of new technologies such as the plasma TV is simple supply and demand. As more consumers demand the product, more manufacturers will go to the expense of making the product available. At first, there won’t likely be sufficient supply to meet the consumer demand but that typically changes after an initial introduction period. When there are plenty of plasma TV sets available to meet current demand, prices will drop.

For the consumer, this means that great technology - the plasma TV, for example - becomes more affordable in a relatively short period of time. Finding a great deal on a plasma TV should be as near as your online or local retailers.

Why You Should Buy A Plasma Television

The plasma television has many advantages and benefits for you and your entertainment needs and wants. The plasma tv gives you incredible picture quality, it has a sleek design, and it is HDTV compatible.

Plasmas provide sharper images and more vibrant colors. You can display both HDTV and DTV signals as well as computer signals such as XGA, SVGA, and VGA.

Plasmas Superior to Both CRT’s and LCD

Plasma screen televisions provide sharp, clear pictures, plus no image distortion. CRTs can’t match this. Plasma tvs have brighter pictures and provide a better viewing angle at 160 degrees, than LCDs. For the best technology in display panels, choose plasma technology.

High Resolution

Plasma display televisions have higher resolution than most standard TV sets. They are able to display full HDTV and DTV signals as well as XGA, SVGA, and VGA signals from a computer. If a plasma has a resolution of 1024×1024 it can display images from 1080i and 720i HDTV resolution, plus 480i and 480p HD signals.

Flat Screen

Plasma display televisions have screens that are completely flat. There is no distortion of the image even at the edges and corners. Plus to increase your viewing fun, the flat plasma screen tv provides an amazing 160-degree viewing area.

Ultra Thin Design Saves Space

Plasma televisions can hang on almost any wall. You can even hang them from your ceiling. Other advantages of plasma screen tvs are high ambient light tolerance, distortion free images, entirely digital techology, not affected by magnetism, and can be attached to a ceiling or wall, or used as a freestanding fixture.
